FAQs

PicWash is a new online service that lets you upload your digital photos and have them retouched by skilled photo editors. We focus on beauty-related issues to help optimize your appearance while still looking natural. Our popular photo enhancements will:

• Reduce facial shine
• Remove acne and other skin blemishes
• Even skin tone and optimize complexion
• Add glow to the eye while eliminating red-eye
• Whiten teeth
• Reduce Wrinkles
• Tweak the overall luminosity and color of the picture

Users can upload their photos, select a service, and have their “PicWashed” photos returned to them in as little as 48 hours.

Why do I need to use PicWash?

These days, people are using the internet more and more to communicate with friends and family and to meet new people. Many websites predominately feature your picture as a representation of who you are. PicWash service ensures that you look great in your photos.

So before you post your photograph online or share them with your friends and family, send them over to us and we’ll make sure you look your best!

Isn’t this for people who are not photogenic?

A common misconception is that PicWash is for those people who are not camera-friendly (photogenic). However, this is not the case. Modern digital cameras capture much more detail than the normal human eye would notice. This can leave even the most photogenic people looking washed out, red-eyed, and blotchy. The PicWash service not only optimizes appearance, but also focuses on softening the appearance of people in photographs due to harsh camera flash or bad lighting. Who’s involved in PicWash?

We have a team of photo editors who are specifically trained in beauty-focused retouching. In addition, our Dermatologist advisor and beauty consultants help to ensure that the most popular beauty issues are resolved through our service. Your skin will look great and your picture will look its best, without making you look like a completely different person.

Why can’t I just improve the photos myself with free online tools?

You can certainly try. We did, and it just didn’t work. The free online tools just don’t have the power to do premium retouching at the level that PicWash does. Granted, they’re good if you want to write a message like “Happy Birthday” on the bottom of your photo, or add graphical effects. But if you’d like to do advanced retouching, you’ll find yourself out of luck.

Plus, our photo editors are trained experts. They’ve used retouching tools for a very long time. We’ve made our service affordable so that you don’t have to spend a lot of time or money on retouching your photos- we’ll do it for you!

So go out, have fun, and live a little. We’ll take care of the rest!

What products do you currently offer?

PicWash currently offers the following two products:

• Want more control over your touch-up? Our next level of service adds a comment box where you can leave a short note containing specific instructions for our team of photo editors. Want to keep your Marilyn Monroe beauty mark but take out your other moles? It’s up to you what you put in the comment box, so long as you follow a few of our guidelines below:

·         Wrinkles, moles, acne, freckles, birthmarks, skin discolorations, Elimination or reduction of facial lines, laugh lines, eye color, or cropping

What if the quality of my original pictures is not very good?

We will make every effort to improve your photos to the greatest extent possible. However in general the best pictures to send for touch-ups are the original version of the picture. If you took your photo with a digital camera, you should send the original file over to us. Some people send us e-mail versions of a file, which are much smaller size than original. This may work online, but if you want to print the image it will end up looking grainy.

With the average suggested price of professional retouching starting at $50, it may seem crazy for PicWash to offer similar services starting at just $7 per photo!

Our tremendous volume and standardized fulfillment processes help us keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you. Why should you have to pay $50 per photo when we can give you the same (or better) quality touch-ups at a fraction of the cost?

Will I be able to print my photos after I send them to PicWash?

How do I upload files from my computer?

·         Select “My Computer” from the choice of tabs on the upper right. This will open a window where you can browse through your computer files to find the images that you want to send to PicWash. Once you find your photos, click “OK” to select that photo.

How do I upload files from other websites (e.g., Photobucket and Facebook)

PicWash lets you upload your photos from 3^rd party websites such as Photobucket and Facebook. Users of those sites can come to PicWash.com and access their respective photo albums from our site. To do this, select the “Photobucket” or “Facebook” tab on the upper right of the Upload page. This will require you to “log-in” to the relevant site. Once done, your photographs will magically appear on the PicWash upload page!

When you are finished with the retouching, you can send the photos back to Facebook to share with your online network!

What if I don’t like the result of the PicWash?

We want our customers to be 100% satisfied. If you are not satisfied with the touch-up, you can request a revision. You will not be charged for this revision. Please allow 48 hours for the revision to be returned to you.
